Why Latvia? The Christmas Markets of course!! Being a very small town, we quickly distinguished the 'best' Christmas market from the 'dodgy' ones. We indulged in hot mulled cider, cheesy bread, danced to carols, "oohed" and "ahhed" at the Christmassy trinkets, and cuddled Santa at our favourite market, situated at Dome Square. After a day of exploring the markets, we tried and tested almost every Irish Bar in Riga town, where Emily perfected her use of the words "feral" and "daggy". After a long, hard day of eating and drinking mulled wine, I would recommend stopping by Black Magic for a DIY hot chocolate. Located right in the heart of the Old Town, you feel like you've been transported to Diagon Alley and the magical Hogwarts inside this beauty.
