As you all know - I am a BIG fan of mac 'n' cheese. It only started in the last year, but I would go as far as saying that I am obsessed with this dish. Normally, mac 'n' cheese in its traditional sense (pasta, cheese, and bake...), but occasionally I'll nab a winner and get something completely unique. Like tonight...
So, I took it upon myself tonight to try the 'Trailer Trash' burger at The Plough Bar & Kitchen in Clapham. I wasn't quite sure what to expect - with a burger that contains a mac 'n' cheese patty, mixed with pulled pork, coleslaw and hot sauce...but man was I impressed! Mind you, I requested the burger minus the hot sauce (spice and I just don't agree), and was pleasantly surprised when I bit into the burger and the succulent taste of BBQ sauce filled my mouth. Mac cheese with pulled pork, in a burger with some BBQ sauce? A 5/5 star effort if you ask me.

I have a confession to make. I am cheese obsessed. Fat cheese, skinny cheese, hard cheese, soft cheese. Grilled cheese, fried cheese, baked cheese, creamy cheese. Put cheese in front of me, and I will devour it. In fact, my mouth is salivating right now at the mere thought of cheese. Yes, I have a problem. Given my obsession, it only seemed natural that I go on a mission. A mission involving the best cheese dish in human existence. That's right, I took it upon myself to find the tastiest, richest, most tummy ache inducing mac 'n' cheese in the whole of London. Here's my yays and nays so far - in order from the best, to the worst! Maximum score is 5 out of 5. |
