So you know London by day, sure. You've seen London by night, many a time. But have you seen iconic buildings and areas all lit up by famous artists who work specifically with light? Me neither.
...Apart from the light that I create using my smartphone torch, when I'm trying to dig through my bag to find the whereabouts of my oyster card...not exactly art at its finest.
Bring in the Lumiere Festival. The festival started in Durham in 2009, and this is the first year that it's been brought to our capital. Over 4 nights (starting tonight, until the 17th of Jan), London will be lit up with quirky and bright installations - some easy to spot, and some more difficult. The displays are all over the West End (Charing Cross, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Piccadilly, Green Park, Mayfair, Oxford Circus and Westminster) and also around King's Cross. An exciting festival that's definitely worth a peek.
Lumiere London was so good, I went back for more on Saturday night!
A peek into the life of me
